About Us
City of Assets is a boutique, vendor-agnostic asset management practice committed to making a difference, one project, one process, one partnership at a time.
We exist to support organisations in improving their asset management practices and gradually bridging the gap between where they are now and where they hope to be. Our approach is collaborative, practical, and always tailored to the unique needs of the people we work with.
We understand that asset management can feel complex and overwhelming—especially in the face of mounting infrastructure backlogs and rising community expectations. That’s why we’re here: to help simplify the path forward, build capability, and promote long-term, sustainable outcomes.
Our Mission
We’re here to serve. To listen. To share what we’ve learned.
We believe in building a future where infrastructure is sustainable, services are resilient, and the next generation inherits systems they can rely on.
As the world faces trillions of dollars in infrastructure backlog, strong asset management is no longer optional—it’s imperative. At City of Assets, we hope to play a small part in lasting, positive change. To help shape better cities, stronger communities, and most importantly, ensure intergenerational equity for those who follow.
We don’t claim to have all the answers—but we promise to walk beside you with honesty, empathy, and purpose.

Our Philosophy
Asset management doesn’t have to be hard—but the devil is overwhelmingly in the detail. We aim to make it approachable without losing the depth and rigour it deserves.
That’s why we developed the ABCD of Asset Management framework—focusing on:
- Asset Systems
- Business Processes
- Clear Roles and Responsibilities
- Data Standards
It’s a model that’s grounded in reality, proven in practice, and flexible enough to scale across diverse environments.
Our Roots
Indy Sehra – Managing Director & Founder
After more than 20 years working across the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) industry — from local and state government to water, energy, and transport — Indy Sehra founded City of Assets in 2023 with a simple mission: to give back to the asset management community.
Throughout his career, Indy has led over 20 AMIS implementations, partnered with many of Australia and New Zealand’s largest infrastructure owners, and worked with leading solutions including TechnologyOne, Assetic/Brightly, Hexagon, Infor, SAP, and Maximo. Along the way, he has seen firsthand the challenges asset managers face in balancing limited resources, community expectations, and intergenerational responsibility.
City of Assets was born out of this experience. As a boutique, vendor-agnostic practice, its focus is on supporting asset-intensive industries with trusted, independent advice — helping organisations bridge the gap between where they are today and where they want to be.
Indy’s belief is simple: strong asset management is at the heart of building sustainable cities, resilient communities, and a fair legacy for future generations.

Our Team
Caring for assets starts with people.
Every asset has a story, and every story has a team. The people powering City of Assets are almost ready for the spotlight. Stay tuned!
Our Journey
Since our inception, we’ve worked with clients across most Australian states—including TAFE, numerous local governments, a water authority, and a state government agency—delivering a wide range of projects from system reviews and implementation support to procurement assistance and market surveys.
These partnerships reaffirm that the “City” in our name goes beyond local government, it represents all asset-owning organisations striving to achieve better outcomes. From councils and state agencies to education providers, our focus is on strengthening capability across the board.
